I think this is something that will come up very shortly in discussion... crossing the line.
A good line to start with is refusal.
Very important to acknowledge a persons right to refuse help in any manner. Basic first aid, conflict resolution ect...

good point, BUT here is a situation, what if a person has been involved in a severe car accident and is shock, you attempt to perform first aid but they are in shock and refusing... do you say fine, and leave.. OR do you continue trying to help verbally and tell them you can help in any mean they will let you

I'm pretty sure that falls under 'assumed consent' because the person is physically unable to provide consent - HOWEVER... you can't start and STOP - you have to keep going till the EMS guys and gals show up.

touche. a lot of that would be depending on the situiation..like if they are gushing blood and refusing im pretty sure id keep trying to help...but if they had a broken hand and they were saying they are okay..then just call 911...

coming back to the "assumed consent" that would be a touchy issue there. Obviously an unconcious person falls under that... but as you said if the person has taken a blow to the head or is in shock from trauma and is noticably delirious i wonder if that counts... if the person is resisting you physcially you could be doing more harm then good trying to help, at the same time they could be losing precious time and bodily fluids.

Well if a person is clearly drunk, and in need of aid, thats consent...
So i would assume being delerious or in shock would be the same situation.
But if the person is physically resisting you and you are unable to help them and they die because of it, its no different then them stabbing themselves in the chest. nothing you can do.
in that situation i guess it'd just be best to sit back and just watch them till 911 arrives.
