So, looking at putting together a 'one day' seminar for those interested in furthering thier understanding of unarmed self defence.
I don't expect to get a comprehensive knowledge in any type of combat training in a DAY - but a better understanding of the things involved in self defence - the warrior mindset, technique, muscle memory - sure.
So, what do you folks have experience in, and what works?

If any one out there is interested in this, research Tony Blauer Tactical Systems. www.tonyblauer.com I took this training once a week for about 4 months and it's amazing. As "real life" as it gets in my opinion. Much better than karate or tae kwon do, not that I have anything against those systems. Blauer is just much more street applicable and focuses on more real-world scenarios, not only the physical aspect but a lot of emphasis is directed on the emotional and pyschological responses as well. Unfortunately my coach got called to work away from home and I stopped taking the classes. I'm trying to find another coach in my area at the moment.

Never really gave that program a lot of attention - I presumed it was just another 'internet' sensation... like any kind of UFC sponsored MMA program.
What was the cost like?

I didn't find it to be. I have seen MMA fighters adopt some of the tactics taught in Blauer, mainly the SPEAR posture. My training was definitely grounded in real life scenarios. And not just the physical attacks. I was taught body language and speech patterns that can potentially diffuse situations. I paid $30 dollars a session once a week.
