Hey warriors, Until recently, I never really thought twice about what it took to make knives and what it really meant to design and create a piece of steel that could feed a family, build shelter, or save a life in defensive situation (where applicable). In late 2009, I met an inspirational teacher who helped me get on the path of the "warrior blacksmith". Since then, I've been working on my humble project, and learning a skill that has come very close to extinction. So without further adieu, let me show you what I've been working on. Lakonian Bladecraft : Model #01 From this: To this: To this: So, let's see what you've made!

Are you getting adequate Hardnes/toughness out of your blades? what kind of steel are you starting with? Are you tempering them?

Hey,
I haven't found a heat treating process that works yet, and will likely send them out to be heat treated professionally.
Steel is high carbon rail-spike (discerned by it's "HC" stamping) steel. Probably comparable to 1084 steel. It's adequate for cutting game though, so that's keeping us happy.
We're going to start some stock removal on some CPM3V soon. Pretty basic stuff, but I expect it to come out awesome.
